## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DENSE SMOKE ON CLIMB CLEARED BY TURNING OFF MASTER. COLLAPSED GEAR LANDING. PILOT HAD MISWIRED ALTERNATOR WIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MKC89LA187](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MKC89LA187), Aug 18, 1989: Beech V35B (N699T), Concord, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: IMPROPER INSTALLATION OF THE ALTERNATOR WIRING HARNESS BY THE PILOT/OWNER WHICH RESULTED IN CHAFED WIRING AND A SUBSEQUENT ELECTRICAL FIRE. THE UNEVEN TERRAIN WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.

## Other reports on N699T (2)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19801006073049I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19801006073049I), Oct 6, 1980: Beech B35 (N699T), Cuero, TX, Minor damage. Zw during rollout pilot raised gear handle instead of flap handle. Gear retracted.
- [Incident 19790802029759I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790802029759I), Aug 2, 1979: Beech B35 (N699T), Cuero, TX, Minor damage. Aircraft settled to runway on rollout. Probable inadvertant retraction.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
