## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

RETURNING TO BASE FROM A SPRAY RUN ENGINE QUIT. CRASHED ON LANDING. FOUND FUEL TANK VENT PLUGGED BY FOREIGN OBJECT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI90DTG01](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI90DTG01), Aug 4, 1990: Cessna 188 (N8024V), Dazey, ND, substantial damage. Probable cause: A BLOCKAGE OF THE FUEL TANK VENT LINE. CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT WAS THE UNSUITABLE TERRAIN ON WHICH THE PILOT HAD TO MAKE THE FORCED LANDING.

## Other reports on N8024V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19800801034219A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800801034219A), Aug 1, 1980: Cessna 188CESSNA (N8024V), Long Prairie, MN, Substantial damage. Engine quit en route to spray field due to fuel exhaustion. Crash-landed in swamp. No ag certificate.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
