## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(.4) THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR LANDED ON A SOD RUNWAY WITH ICE PATCHES AND A CROSS WIND OF 18 TO 24 KNOTS. DURING THE LANDING ROLL, AS THE AIRPLANE DECELERATED, DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS LOST. THE AIRPLANE SLID OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, THROUGH A SNOW BANK, DOWN A DITCH AND NOSED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC93LA046](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC93LA046), Dec 19, 1992: Cessna 150L (N6524G), Weedsport, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR DID NOT MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE DURING THE AFTER LANDING ROLL. FACTORS IN THIS ACCIDENT WERE THE STRONG CROSS WINDS AND THE ICE PATCHED RUNWAY.

## Other reports on N6524G (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19931130053799I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19931130053799I), Nov 30, 1993: Cessna 150L (N6524G), Syracuse, NY. Rough engine after departing airport. Returned. Found NR4 cylinder intake valve broken.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
