## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: A LOCAL FLIGHT NEAR AIRPORT, THE PILOT WAS DESCENDING TO LAND. THE ENGINE RPM WAS REDUCED TO 1700 RPM. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE ENGINE STARTED MISSING. THE PILOT THEN APPLIED CARBURETOR HEAT. THE ENGINE STOPPED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FIELD NEAR THE AIRPORT CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR, FIREWALL, ENGINE MOUNT AND LOWER COWLING. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
