BARTZ STARTED A 180 DEGREE TURN TO TAXI BACK; IN DOING SO HE WENT OUT PAST THE RUNWAY LIGHTS INTO AN AREA THAT WAS SOFT. WHILE OUT SIDE THE RUNWAY LIGHTS, THE AIRCRAFT SANK INTO THE SOFT GROUND AND ONE PROP TIP HIT THE GROUND. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN OUT OF ILIAMNA, AK ON A FERRY PERMIT. THIS INVESTIGATION & REPORT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
