## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JANUARY 6, 1995, APPROXIMATELY 0910 CST, WHILE ENROUTE FROM EPPLEY AIRFIELD, OMAHA, NEBRASKA, TO COLUMBUS, NEBRASKA, THE PILOT IN COMMAND OF COMMANDER 680FL, N31P, PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY LH ENGINE SHUTDOWN DUE TO DECREASING ENGINE RPM. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AT EPPLEY AIRFIELD, OMAHA, NEBRASKA, WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THE LH PROPELLER HAD EXPERIENCED OIL STARVATION DUE TO A BLOCKED PROPELLER GOVERNOR GASKET SCREEN. THE SOURCE OF BLOCKAGE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS CARBON DEPOSITS. THE LH PROPELLER GOVERNOR WAS REPLACED AND THE ENGINE OIL SCREEN WAS INSPECTED FOR CONTAMINATION. REINSPECTION OF THE OIL SCREEN IS SCHEDULED IN 10 FLIGHT HOURS. A MECHANICAL INTERRUPTION SUMMARY AND MALFUNCTION AND DEFECT REPORT WERE SUBMITTED BY THE OPERATOR. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
