## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(.4)BOTH PILOTS STATED THAT AFTER COMPLETING AN ILS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 32 THE AIRPLANE WAS ALIGNED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE CAPTAIN (FLYING PILOT) ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT TO THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY; HOWEVER, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR TOUCHED DOWN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY IN A SNOWBANK AND THE AIRPLANE EXITED THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI95LA069](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI95LA069), Jan 12, 1995: Cessna S550 (N287MC), Newton, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot-in-command's failure to attain runway alignment. A factor was a snowbank.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
