## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JANUARY 21, 1995, A ROCKWELL 114, N515CA, PILOTED BY MRS. JAN PIPERIS, MADE A SUCCESSFUL LANDING WITH AN UNSAFE GEAR INDICATION. MRS. PIPERIS STATED THAT GROUND OBSERVATION OF THE AIRCRAFT INDICATING THE GEAR WAS NOT PROPERLY EXTENDED WAS RELAYED TO HER. SHE THEN MADE SEVERAL UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO EXTEND THE GEAR USING THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE AND THEN TRIED DIFFERENT FLIGHT MANEUVERS. THE PILOT WAS THEN ABLE TO LOCK DOWN THE MAIN GEAR BUT NOT THE NOSE GEAR. THE PILOT THEN DECIDED TO LAND USING A TAXIWAY. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE MAIN GEAR, THE NOSE GEAR LOCKED DOWN GIVING A GREEN DOWN AND LOCKED LIGHT. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT HAD BEEN CALLED OUT AND WAS STANDING BY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
