## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT DEPARTED JACKSONVILLE, FL ENROUTE TO KEY WEST, FL. THE FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL REACHING KEY WEST. UPON REACHING KEY WEST THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR AND THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR, BOTH IN THE NORMAL MANNER AND IN THE EMERGENCY MANNER, WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO FIND AN AIRPORT WITH FOAM CAPABILITIES, BUT DARKNESS WAS IMPENDING, AND ELECTED TO LAND AT KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN TRANSIT. UPON LANDING MINOR DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES WERE INFLICTED ON THE OCCUPANTS. WORK IS CONTINUING ON THE AIRCRAFT TO DETERMINE WHY THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
