## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE DESCENDING INTO LAKEFRONT AIRPORT, THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED ABRUPT AND SUDDEN CLEAR AIR TURBULENCE. BEGINNING AT FLIGHT LEVEL 26.5 AND CONTINUING TO FLIGHT LEVEL 24.1, INTENSITY WAS SEVERE-TO-EXTREME. DURING DESCENT, THE FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DISPLAYED WINDS ALOFT, AND WIND DIRECTION AND VELOCITY OF 250 DEGREES AT 120 KNOTS AT FLIGHT LEVEL 27, CHANGING TO 258 DEGREES AT 25 KNOTS AT FLIGHT LEVEL 24. NO ADVERSE FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS WERE NOTED AFTER THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE TURBULENCE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
