## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1995, N551SS, A BE-90-B90, ON AN AIR AMBULANCE FLIGHT FROM ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA TO HAYDEN, COLORADO EXPERIENCED THE LOSS OF THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE TORQUE FOLLOWED BY AN INCREASE IN ENGINE TEMPERATURE AND ENGINE VIBRATION. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED THROUGH DENVER ARTCC AND AN UNEVENTFUL DESCENT AND LANDING WAS MADE AT AINSWORTH, NEBRASKA. INITIAL MAINTENANCE INVESTIGATION REVEALED A FAILURE OF THE GAS TURBINE SECTION OF THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE. THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. ENGINE TEARDOWN ANALYSIS IS TO BE CONDUCTED AND SUBMITTED WITH AN SDR TO AGL-FSDO-15. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
