## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON FEBRUARY 9, 1995, AT APPROXIMATELY 0810 HOURS, A MOONEY 20J, N5639M, PILOTED BY MR. ANDREW T. BLOOM, EXPERIENCED SOME DIFFICULTIES WHILE TAKING OFF WITH A QUARTERING TAIL WIND ON RUNWAY 01 AT THE NEW CASTLE COUNTY AIRPORT, WILMINGTON, DE. JUST AT LIFT OFF THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND IT TURNED 180 DEGREES AND LANDED APPROXIMATELY 100' OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 01 AT THE 1000' MARKER. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A FLIGHT PLAN HAD NOT BEEN FILED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE COULDN'T CONTROL THE QUARTERING TAIL WIND, THAT IT PUSHED THE AIRCRAFT AROUND AND HE LANDED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY IN THE SNOW. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ INCIDENT CLOSED.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
