## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 2/14/95 AERO COMMANDER 500 N8459C LANDED ON RUNWAY 9R AT FT. LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. DURING ROLLOUT, THE RT. MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED. FOLLOWED BY THE LEFT MAIN GEAR. THE PILOT IN COMMAND, ALEXANDER BLACKWELL, ADMITTED THAT PRIOR TO LANDING HE FAILED TO CHECK HYDRAULIC PRESSURE ON THE GEAR SYSTEM, NOR DID HE CHECK THE LANDING GEAR POSITION INDICATORS TO ENSURE THEY WERE DOWN AND LOCKED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PLACED ON JACKS AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR SWITCH WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, IN THAT WHEN AN UNSAFE GEAR CONDITION EXISTED, THE WARNING HORN DID NOT SOUND. THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED AND THE SYSTEM WORKED NORMALLY . AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE BOTH MAIN GEAR ACTUATORS WERE REPLACED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
