## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE INCIDENT OCCURRED DURING A BALLOON LANDING IN A CONGESTED RESIDENTIAL AREA WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF NAPA, CALIFORNIA. THE PURPOSE OF THE BALLOON FLIGHT ACCORDING TO THE OPERATOR, BALLOONS ABOVE THE VALLEY, WAS TO CONDUCT A SCENIC RIDE FOR HIRE WITH TWELVE PASSENGERS. THE PILOT STATED THAT DURING HIS APPROACH FOR LANDING, THE BALLOON EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF LIFT OVER A TREE LINE WHICH RESULTED IN THE BALLOON COLLIDING WITH A HOUSE. THE PILOT AND HIS TWELVE PASSENGERS WERE NOT INJURED DURING THE COLLISION; HOWEVER, THE HOUSE RECEIVED PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE RAIN GUTTERS, ROOF, AND DAMAGE TO AN INTERIOR WALL. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
