## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON FEBRUARY 21, 1995, A CESSNA 172RG, N6412V, DEPARTED OTTAWA AIRPORT, KS (OWI) AT APPROXIMATELY 5:30 PM ENROUTE TO TULSA R L JONES AIRPORT (RVS). A STOP WAS MADE AT PONCA CITY. THE PILOT, MR. CARROLL LEWIS, JR., SAID THAT AS HE CLIMBED OUT, THE GEAR WARNING SOUNDED AT 7,000 FT, BUT QUIT. AT APPROXIMATELY 9:30 P.M., THE PILOT WAS LANDING THE AIRCRAFT AT RVS, BUT HAD FAILED TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND AND WAS BENT. HE SAID HE HAD PLENTY OF RUNWAY AHEAD AND CONTINUED TO FLY. HE EXTENDED THE GEAR AND LANDED WITHOUT GOING AROUND. THE PILOT SAID HE DID NOT HEAR THE GEAR WARNING SOUND DURING LANDING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS TO THE BENT PROPELLER BLADES. THE PILOT WAS THE LONE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT. AN M OR D REPORT WILL BE SUBMITTED. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
