## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 02-22-95, 1990 PST, C-FIEK, A HELIUM FILLED FREE BALLOON, DEPARTED VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH THE INTENT OF CROSSING THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN RANGE IN CANADA. AT ALTITUDE, UNFAVORABLE WINDS WERE ENCOUNTERED AND THE PILOT ELECTED TO SET THE BALLOON DOWN IN THE VICINITY OF NOOKSAK, WA IN THE U.S., AT 2120. THE BALLOON LANDED IN A FIELD WITHOUT DAMAGE OR INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
