## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS ENROUTE FROM GRAND RAPIDS, MI (GRR) TO DUPAGE, IL (DPA) WHEN HE EXPERIENCED A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. HE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND DIVERTED TO MICHIGAN CITY, IN (MGC). THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING UPON LANDING AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AN INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE REVEALED THAT THE #3 CYLINDER EXHAUST VALVE FAILED. THE #3 ENGINE CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. CLOSED 04/17/95.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
