## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: A BEECH BONANZA, N1567S, OWNED AND OPERATED BY MR. ROBERT C. ZOOK, EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE ON MARCH 1, 1995, DURING A VFR FLIGHT NEAR PEORIA, IL. ACCORDING TO MR. ZOOK, AN ENGINE RESTART WAS ATTEMPTED WITHOUT SUCCESS. AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE IN A FIELD WITHOUT INJURY TO HIMSELF NOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. UPON INSPECTION BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE AIRCRAFT RAN OUT OF FUEL. THE LEFT TANK FUEL GAUGE INDICATED LESS THAN A QUARTER TANK, THE RIGHT TANK INDICATED HALF FULL. MR. ZOOK ATTEMPTED TO SWITCH TANKS PRIOR TO HIS EMERGENCY LANDING. THE MECHANIC CHANGED THE LEFT FUEL GAUGE, AND THE OPS CHECK WAS GOOD. MR. ZOOK FLEW THE AIRCRAFT OUT OF THE FIELD WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
