## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT REQUESTED A DOWN WIND DEPARTURE WHICH GAVE HIM A 12 KNOT TAIL WIND COMPONENT. AS A RESULT, AIRCRAFT DID NOT ACCELERATE AS FAST AS THE PILOT EXPECTED AND WAS ACCUSTOMED. THINKING HE WASN'T DEVELOPING SUFFICIENT POWER FOR TAKEOFF, THE PILOT MISTAKENLY ABORTED THE TAKEOFF, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO RUN OFF THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DAMAGED AS A RESULT, SHEERING THE LEFT MAIN GEAR, NOSE WHEEL, LEFT WING TIP, FLAP, STABILIZER AND STRUCTURE. AIRCRAFT REMOVED TO FALCON AEROMOTIVE, LAWRENCE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, NO. ANDOVER, MA. NO REPORTED INJURY, NO PROPERTY DAMAGE TO OTHER THAN THE AIRCRAFT, WHICH WAS RENTED FROM EXECUTIVE FLYERS, BEDFORD, MA. NTSB CONSIDERED THIS AN "INCIDENT". ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
