## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MARCH 10, 1995 AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 CST MR. WILLIAM C. PAYNE, A STUDENT PILOT, WAS MAKING PRACTICE TAKEOFFS & LANDINGS IN HIS OLSON BABY ACE ON MULE LAKE NEAR LONGVILLE, MN. DURING HIS LANDING ROLLOUT MR. PAYNE DID NOT SEE THE WATER UNDER THE SNOW. THE SKI EQUIPPED AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. THE PILOT OF THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT HAVE REASONABLY BEEN EXPECTED TO SEE THE WATER BENEATH THE SNOW. THE PILOT WAS ALSO A STUDENT PILOT INVOLVED IN SOLO PRACTICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
