## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

MISJUDGED FLAIR ON NIGHT LANDING. BOUNCED PORPOISED. TRIED GO AROUND. EXITED RUNWAY. ELEVATOR STRUCK A SIGN. (-23) PILOT STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH AIRCRAFT, SHE FLARED ABOUT 10' TOO HIGH. THE STALL WARNING HORN CAME ON & THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE RUNWAY HARD AND BOUNCED INTO THE AIR. SHE THEN ELECTED TO GO AROUND & ADDED POWER. THE AIRCRAFT HIT A "DO NOT PROCEED SIGN" APPROXIMATELY 25 YDS RT. OF THE RUNWAY. THIS BENT THE EMPENNAGE APPROXIMATELY 45 DEGREES OF CENTER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI95LA101](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI95LA101), Mar 15, 1995: Cessna 150 (N63671), Ann Arbor, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the aborted landing. Factors associated with the accident were the airport sign and the night lighting conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
