## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND WAS GIVING CHECKOUT TO SECOND-IN-COMMAND (BOTH CFI'S) FOR QUALIFICATION TO INSTRUCT ON BE T-34. ON THE FOURTH TOUCH AND GO ON RUNWAY 27 AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS ACCELERATING FOR TAKEOFF, IT SETTLED ON THE RUNWAY WITH THE GEAR APPROXIMATELY 75 PERCENT RETRACTED. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THERE WERE NO REPORTED GEAR MALFUNCTIONS, NOR DID THE PILOTS INVOLVED BELIEVE THAT THE GEAR MALFUNCTIONED. APPARENTLY THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE WAS PUT IN THE "UP" POSITION BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT HAD FLYING SPEED. THE AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS CONSIDERED MINOR. THE FOLLOWING WERE DAMAGED: INBOARD MLG DOORS, EXHAUST STACKS, PROPELLER BEYOND REPAIR, AND THE ENGINE SUSTAINED SUDDEN STOPPAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
