## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT REPORTED THAT ON 3-26-95 HE WAS ENROUTE FROM ORLANDO TO KEY WEST. DURING CLIMBOUT THE RIGHT ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH, SO HE SHUT IT DOWN AND RETURNED TO ORLANDO. DAVID HARMON A&P 2184898 PERFORMS REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON THE AIRCRAFT. HE SAID THE RIGHT FUEL VALVE HAS AN INTERNAL LEAK ALLOWING THE MAIN TANK TO DRAIN TO THE AUX. TANK. THE PILOT HAD NO REASON TO THINK THE MAIN TANK WOULD DRAIN FASTER THAN NORMAL. THEREFORE THE ENGINE RAN OUT OF GAS BEFORE HE COULD SWITCH TO THE AUX. TANK. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW AN INFLIGHT START WITH THE AUX. TANK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
