## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON APRIL 7, 1995, AT APPROXIMATELY 1915 EDST, A ROCKWELL S2 THRUSH REGISTERED TO WESTERN CAROLINA AGRICULTURE AIR, INC., PO BOX 1379, JEFFERSON, NC WAS PILOTED BY JOEL LINEBURGER WHO WAS RETURNING TO JEFFERSON AIRPORT AFTER CROP DUSTING. THE PILOT INDICATED HE PULLED POWER BACK AND ENGINE STARTED MAKING A FUNNY NOISE. PILOT NOTICED HE STILL HAD GOOD POWER AND OIL PRESSURE. THE ENGINE STARTED SEIZING UP AND PROPELLER STARTED WIND MILLING. THE PILOT INDICATED HE DID A 180 DEGREE TURN REALIZING HE COULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE AIRPORT. HE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN A COW PASTURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
