## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT EXPERIENCED ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE W/LOSS OF RPM & ALTITUDE. AFTER LEANING FUEL MIXTURE, ENGINE RAN SOMEWHAT BETTER. LACK OF PILOT EXPERIENCE CONTRIBUTED TO HIS DECISION TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RUN AFTER IT WAS RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT AND FOUND TO RUN NORMALLY, HOWEVER THERE WAS EVIDENCE THAT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING RICH. THE OWNER REMOVED AND REPLACED THE CARBURETOR, AND SAID HE WAS GOING TO SEND THE ONE IN QUESTION TO A CARB. REPAIR STATION FOR CHECK & POSSIBLE OVERHAUL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
