## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 4/21/95 AT 1715 EDT, A CESSNA P210, N6202W, BEGIN OPERATED BY MR. DAVID ABER EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON AN IFR FLIGHT TO POUGHKEEPSIE, NY WHEN THE PILOT NOTED A DISCHARGE ON THE LOADMETER. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED AND HE DIVERTED TO LAND AT ELMIRA, NY WITHOUT RADIO COMMUNICATIONS. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS WITHOUT DAMAGE, NO INJURY TO ANY PERSON. THE AIRCRAFT HAD DEPARTED BUFFALO, NY AT APPROXIMATELY 1600 EDT. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT THE ALTERNATOR BELT HAD COME OFF BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR MOUNTING BRACKET HAD BECOME LOOSE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
