## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE CORONER SAID CAUSE OF DEATH WAS A RUPTURED ASCENDING AORTA, WHICH OCCURED WHEN THE PARACHUTE OPENED. SHE SAID HIS DEATH WAS NOT CAUSED BY IMPACT WITH THE GROUND. JUMPER EXITED AIRCRAFT NORMALLY. SHORTLY AFTER THE PARACHUTE OPENED, THE JUMPER WAS OBSERVED TO BE STABILIZED, BUT THEN STARTED A SPIRAL. THE JUMPER WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS OVER A RADIO TO CORRECT THE SITUATION, BUT NO RESPONSE WAS OBSERVED FROM THE JUMPER. JUMPER IMPACTED THE GROUND IN A SPIRAL UNDER A FULLY OPENED CANOPY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
