## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF A FOREIGN REGULATED AIRPORT. PIC'S ATTEMPT TO LAND WAS WITHIN THE PERFORMANCE CRITERIA OF THE CESSNA CITATION. HOWEVER, THE LIP OF THE ASPHALT RUNWAY IS 5" TO 6" ABOVE THE GROUND/CORAL ROCK UNDERSURFACE OF THE ASPHALT. VEGETATION IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE RUNWAY CAUSES A BURBLE EFFECT JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN IN A CROSSWIND CONDITION. A SUDDEN LOSS OF LIFT COUPLED WITH THE "CURB" CREATED BY THE ASPHALT AT THE RUNWAY'S BEGINNING EDGE CONTRIBUTED TO AN UNEXPECTED IMPACT WITH THE RUNWAY'S BEGINNING EDGE BY THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA95WA120](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA95WA120), Apr 26, 1995: Cessna 550 (N7RC), Walkers Cay, Bahamas, destroyed

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
