## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: CIVIL AIR PATROL INSTRUCTOR PILOT DEMONSTRATED PROCEDURES FOR ENGINE FAILURE AFTER TAKEOFF DURING OBSTACLE CLEARANCE CLIMB AT VX SPEED. AT 100' AGL, ENGINE FAILURE WAS SIMULATED WITH AIRCRAFT IN LEVEL ATTITUDE, NOSE LOWERED. AT 10' AGL, FULL POWER WAS APPLIED AND GO -AROUND ATTEMPTED. DUE TO HIGH SINK RATE, THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE RUNWAY, SHEARING OFF THE NOSE WHEEL. THE PROP CONTACTED THE RUNWAY AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A HALT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
