## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF INSTRUCTOR WAS GIVING A PROGRESS CHECK. DURING A 180 DEGREE ACCURACY LANDING, A HARD LANDING WAS MADE. DURING TAXI-IN, THE INSTRUCTOR REALIZED THAT THE AIRPLANE WAS OUT OF RIGGING AND WAS STEERING ABNORMALLY. UPON CLOSE INSPECTION BY A MECHANIC, THE FOLLOWING DAMAGE WAS FOUND: WRINKLED SKIN, EXTERNAL DAMAGE OF THE NOSE WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND POPPED RIVETS IN THE NOSE GEAR AREA. NO PROP STRIKE OR ADDITIONAL DAMAGE WAS FOUND. THE CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR/FAA AVIATION SAFETY COUNSELOR, CONDUCTED A REEVALUATION PROGRESS CHECK RIDE WITH THE INSTRUCTOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
