## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MAY 11, 1995 THE SALT LAKE FSDO RECEIVED NOTICE OF AN AIRCRAFT INCIDENT NEAR PRICE, UTAH. PRIVATE PILOT ALAN DODSON WAS ON A CROSS COUNTRY VFR FLIGHT FROM SALT LAKE AIRPORT #2 (U42) TO PRICE/CARBON COUNTY AIRPORT (PUC) IN HIS EXPERIMENTAL CAPELLA. A STRONG WEATHER FRONT MOVED IN NEAR PRICE AND PILOT DODSON ELECTED TO LAND ON AN OLD ASPHALT ROAD APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES FROM THE PRICE AIRPORT AND WAIT UNTIL THE STORM PASSED. AFTER THE STORM HAD PASSED PILOT DODSON WAS TAKING OFF FROM THE ASPHALT ROAD WHEN THE LEFT WHEEL OF HIS AIRCRAFT HIT A POTHOLE IN THE ROAD. THIS CAUSED HIS LEFT WING TO DROP AND THE RIGHT WING TO RISE. MR. DODSON CORRECTED TO THE RIGHT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL STRUCK A BERM ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHEARING OFF THE LEFT MAIN GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT THEN STRUCK NOSE GEAR FIRST AND CAME TO A STOP INVERTED. PILOT DODSON SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. A LOCAL A&P STATED THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, ONLY SHEET METAL DAMAGE. THE WEATHER WAS VMC AND NOT A FACTOR. THIS IS THE FINAL REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
