## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE FELT A ROUGHNESS IN THE ENGINE POWER. BY THE TIME HE LANDED EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL HAVE INVESTIGATED CAUSE AND FOUND NO DISCREPANCIES AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS REPORT IS A RESULT OF A VARIATION IN AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN. THE PILOT WAS ON AN IFR FLIGHT FROM CHICAGO, IL (MDV) TO MOLINE, IL. HE FELT A ROUGHNESS IN THE ENGINE AND REQUESTED AN ALTERNATE AIRPORT TO LAND. THE ROUGHNESS IN THE ENGINE HAD DISAPPEARED BEFORE LANDING. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
