## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRPLANE WAS DOWNWIND AND PARALLEL TO A LINE OF TREES AT TREE-TOP LEVEL WHILE IN A TURNAROUND MANEUVER. THE WIND, ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, WAS TURBULENT DOWNWIND OF THE TREES, AND MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO A LOSS OF LIFT WHILE THE AIRPLANE WAS IN THE TURN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW95LA199](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW95LA199), May 15, 1995: Fairchild F-23A (N1133Z), Ozark, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: THE INADVERTENT STALL WHILE EXECUTING THE TURN TO REVERSE DIRECTION DURING AN AERIAL APPLICATION FLIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
