## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MAY 20, 1995 AT APPROXIMATELY 1200 HOURS, A PIPER PA28-180, N3492R, OWNED AND PILOTED BY MR. WALTER J. LEWIS, A PRIVATE PILOT, EXPERIENCED SOME DIFFICULTIES WHILE LANDING ON RUNWAY 28 AT THE MILLVILLE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, MILLVILLE, NJ FOR REFUELING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A FLIGHT PLAN HAD BEEN FILED. THE PILOT, SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT INJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROP. THE PILOT STATED HE HAD ENCOUNTERED AND REPORTED MODERATE TURBULENCE AT 2000 FEET ON HIS APPROACH TO THE MILLVILLE AIRPORT. HE ADVISED THE APPROACH WAS NORMAL UNTIL AFTER CROSSING THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD, THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN SLAMMED ONTO THE RUNWAY, BOUNCED ONCE, THE PILOT RECOVERED AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT, EXITED THE RUNWAY AND TAXIED TO THE FBO FOR REFUELING. DURING HIS WALK AROUND INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT AT THE FUEL PUMP, HE DISCOVERED A PROP STRIKE HAD OCCURRED DURING THE LANDING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ INCIDENT CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
