## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) THE PILOT STATED HE ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO RUN OUT OF FUEL WHILE INVOLVED IN AGRICULTURAL SPRAYING OPERATIONS. DAMAGE RESULTED FROM THE SUBSEQUENT OFF-AIRPORT LANDING FOLLOWING THE POWER LOSS. HE ADDED THAT THE FUEL GAUGES INDICATED A QUARTER TANK OF FUEL REMAINING AND ASSUMED THEM TO BE CORRECT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW95LA248](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW95LA248), Jun 16, 1995: Wsk Pzl Mielec M18 (N2177Q), Cherry Valley, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: FUEL EXHAUSTION DUE TO THE PILOT'S FAILURE TO REFUEL THE AIRPLANE. A FACTOR WAS THE LACK OF SUITABLE TERRAIN FOR A FORCED LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
