## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: DUE TO AIRSHOW IN PROGRESS AT OKC, ATAC INSTRUCTED PILOT TO MAINTAIN 140KTS AT 2000 FT ON FINAL APPROACH TO RWY 17L. AFTER RECEIVING CLEARANCE TO LAND, PILOT REDUCED POWER TO IDLE AND DESCENDED RAPIDLY. THE AIRCRAFT GOT TOO LOW AND THE PILOT ADDED POWER ABRUPTLY. THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND WHEN THE THROTTLE WAS PUSHED IN AND THE PILOT LANDED ON THE GRASS SHORT OF THE RUNWAY. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
