## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) ON 06/23/95, A SPREUER COZY EXPERIMENTAL AIRPLANE, N84CB, OVER-RAN THE RUNWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A FENCE AND BERM DURING A REJECTED TAKE-OFF AT L32. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE PILOT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED; HOWEVER, THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. INVESTIGATION REVEALED NO MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS OF ANY AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS. THE PILOT STATES THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOADED AT GROSS WEIGHT AS HE BEGAN A TAKEOFF ROLL AND GROUND ACCELERATION SEEMED SLUGGISH. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE ELECTED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF, BUT THE AIRCRAFT OVERRAN THE 3,061 FT RUNWAY, COLLIDING WITH A FENCE AND A BERM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX95LA222](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX95LA222), Jun 23, 1995: Spreuer Cozy (N84CZ), Oceanside, CA, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's premature rotation of the aircraft and failure to attain the proper liftoff airspeed.

## Other reports on N84CZ (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19910701032859I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910701032859I), Jul 1, 1991: Amtrcz COZY (N84CZ), Gallup, NM, Minor damage. Pilot aborted takeoff. During taxi-back brakes caught fire. Wheel fairings damaged.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
