## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) THE PILOT EXPLAINED THAT HE GOT CAUGHT IN A DOWN DRAFT. WE FEEL HE WA TOO CLOSE TO THE GROUND IN A DEEP VALLEY TO BEGIN WITH. HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH MANEUVERING ROOM IN THE AREA HE WAS IN TO RECOVER FROM ANY UNEXPECTED EMERGENCIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA95LA132](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA95LA132), Jun 25, 1995: Cessna 150M (N66727), Meachem, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND'S FAILURE TO MAINTAIN CLEARANCE FROM THE SURROUNDING TERRAIN. A FACTOR WAS THE MOUNTAINOUS/HILLY TERRAIN CONDITION.
