## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT WAS IN THE TOUCH AND GO PATTERN AT THE MEAD AIRPORT USING RUNWAY 16. ON HIS THIRD LANDING HE RESET THE FLAPS AND TRIM, OPENED THE COWL FLAPS AND APPLIED MAXIMUM POWER TO TAKE OFF AGAIN WHEN HE STRUCK A DEER. THE PILOT ABORTED THE TAKEOFF AND WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. AN OBSERVER CALLED THE SHERIFF AFTER HEARING THE IMPACT AND THE RESULTING ABORTED TAKEOFF. DEPUTY SHERIFF MICHAEL ZOLLARA CAME OUT TO INVESTIGATE AND TOOK PICTURES. PROPELLER CUT DEER IN HALF ON IMPACT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
