## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) DURING A HIGH WIND LANDING, THE GONDOLA HIT FIRST ON A CORNER, THROWING THE PASSENGER OFF BALANCE, BREAKING HIS LEG. PILOT AND AIRCRAFT WERE PROPERLY CERTIFICATED AND CURRENT. FAA INSPECTOR INTERVIEWED PILOT AND FOUND ALL APPLICABLE PROCEDURES WERE FOLLOWED AND COMPETENCY WAS NOT IN QUESTION. NO FAR INFRACTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW95LA376](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW95LA376), Sep 2, 1995: Balloon Works Firefly 7 (N90555), Colorado Spgs, CO, no damage. Probable cause: AN ENCOUNTER WITH A WIND SHIFT DURING LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
