## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT STATED HE LANDED NEARBY HIS INTENDED LANDING SITE AND WALKED OUT THE ACTUAL SITE IN WHICH HE WANTED TO LAND AND MARKED THE AREA. HE THEN WENT BACK TO HIS AIRCRAFT AND TOOK OFF FOR THE LANDING SITE. UPON LANDING, THE PILOT STATED HE MISJUDGED THE MARKED LANDING SITE AREA ON TOP OF AN 1800' MOUNTAIN AND BENT THE AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR. THE LANDING SITE WAS NEAR TIN MOUNTAIN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
