ON SEPTEMBER 7, 1995, A CESSNA T210L, N1751X ON A VFR FLIGHT FROM WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA (HLG) ENROUTE TO SPRINGFIELD, MO (SGF), MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FARM FIELD APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES NORTH OF SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI. THE PILOT ROBERT J. CULLEN SATED THE AIRCRAFT RAN OUT OF FUEL. THE INVESTIGATION AT THE ACCIDENT SITE VERIFIED THERE WAS NOT ANY FUEL IN THE FUEL TANKS, FUEL LINES OR FLOW DIVIDER. MR. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI95LA314](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI95LA314), Sep 7, 1995: Cessna 210L (N1751X), Springfield, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's inadequate preflight and his failure to ensure an adequate supply of fuel for the intended trip, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
