## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON OCTOBER 7, 1995, AT 8:30 MST, A SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE MK-XVI, N721WK, LOST AIR PRESSURE WHILE OPERATING NEAR THE SANTA FE AIRPORT (SAF). THE PILOT ELECTED TO FLY TO THE ALBUQUERQUE AIRPORT (ABQ) IN ORDER TO UTILIZE A LONG RUNWAY AND AVAILABLE EMERGENCY FACILITIES. THE PILOT MADE A NO-FLAP, NO-BRAKE LANDING AND THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE DIRECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT DURING ROLL-OUT. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AND THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND THE BOTTOM OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
