## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 10/08/95, AT 07:48 MDT, A SPECTATOR WATCHING THE LAUNCH OF LIGHTER-THAN-AIR FREE BALLOON WAS STRUCK IN THE SHOULDER AREA BY A HAND-HELD RADIO THAT FELL FROM AN AEROSTAR S60-A (N36228) BALLOON THAT HAD JUST BEEN RELEASED FOR LAUNCH ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT IS REGISTERED TO FREDERICK M. POLLMANN, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AND NO FLIGHT PLAN HAD BEEN FILED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. MR. POLLMANN HOLDS COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATE NO. 1711697.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
