## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS INBOUND FOR LANDING AT THE DUBUQUE REGIONAL AIRPORT. THE PILOT REPORTED TO ATC THAT HE WAS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON A CITY STREET CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. INVESTIGATION REVEALED NO FUEL IN THE TANKS AND NO OTHER MECHANICAL DAMAGE WAS APPARENT. AN EIR HAS BEEN INITIATED AGAINST THE PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI96LA013](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI96LA013), Oct 19, 1995: Cessna 150 (N17382), Peosta, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's inadequate aircraft preflight inspection and failure to refuel the airplane prior to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
