## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON OCTOBER 20, 1995, AT APPROXIMATELY 0915 AM, A MERGEN FRANK A, SEA REY (EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT), N32780, SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE DURING AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING AT BOCA RATON, FL WHILE ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT. THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) STATED THAT AFTER TAKEOFF FROM BOCA RATON AIRPORT (BCT) THE ENGINE STOPPED DEVELOPING NORMAL POWER. THE PIC MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING IN A CANAL CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE HULL. THE PIC STATED THAT THE THROTTLE SLIDE WAS STICKING WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO DEVELOP LESS THAN NORMAL POWER. THE MERGEN FRANK A, SEA REY, IS AN AMPHIBIAN AIRCRAFT. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME. THE PRIVATE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE INCIDENT AND INVESTIGATION ARE CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
