## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AFTER DEPARTURE FROM ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, AND DURING THE CLIMB-OUT PHASE OF THE FLIGHT, #3 ENGINE FIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST WOULD NOT EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WARNING LIGHT. BOTH FIRE BOTTLES WERE DISCHARGED INTO THE #3 ENGINE; HOWEVER, THE FIRE WARNING LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA. INVESTIGATION REVEALED A FALSE WARNING LIGHT INDICATION. (SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
