## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON OCTOBER 22, 1995, ON A VFR FLIGHT FROM AMANA, IOWA, TO BUSHNELL, ILLINOIS, THE AIRCRAFT HAD AN ENGINE FAILURE AND LANDED IN A BEAN FIELD APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES FROM BUSHNELL. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED IN AN INVERTED POSITION WITH MINOR DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN FUELED AT MACOMB, ILLINOIS, PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT TO AMANA, IOWA. NO FUEL WAS ADDED AT AMANA AND THE ROUND TRIP TOOK APPROXIMATELY 21/2 HOURS. THE PILOT HAS BEEN COUNSELED ON CROSS-COUNTRY FUEL REQUIREMENTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
