## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) THE INVESTIGATION INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL MISMANAGEMENT PROBLEM. THIS INDICATION WAS DUE TO THE RIGHT TANK HAVING A HALF TANK OF GAS AND THE LEFT TANK BEING EMPTY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB BFO96LA014](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/BFO96LA014), Oct 22, 1995: Mooney M20E (N5744Q), Shady Side, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: the partial loss of engine power due to a leaking fuel line.

## Other reports on N5744Q (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19931023045639I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19931023045639I), Oct 23, 1993: Mooney M20E (N5744Q), Bowie, MD, Minor damage. Left main gear collapsed on landing rollout. Unable to find any malfunction.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
