## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 10-26-95, AT 17:00 MDT, MR. STEVEN JONES A PRIVATE HOT AIR BALLOON PILOT FROM VERNAL, UTAH LANDED IN A FIELD IN A HIGH WIND AND WAS BLOWN INTO POWER LINES. THE BALLOON WITH LEVELER CABLE PUSHED TWO POWER WIRES TOGETHER CAUSING THE POWER LINES TO SHORT AND SHUTTING THEM DOWN. THE BALLOON SUSTAINED NO DAMAGE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. MR. JONES STATED THAT HE HAD CALLED THE CDC AFSS AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO FORECAST FOR ANY WIND AT OR NEAR THE TIME OF HIS FLIGHT. THIS MATTER IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
